Giving a regional freight operator real-time control over every shipment.
01The Challenge
Cargoline moved 1,200 shipments a week across three states on WhatsApp threads, paper manifests and a spreadsheet only one person understood. Customers called the office to ask where their freight was. Drivers photographed delivery notes and hoped someone filed them. Every exception cost hours of phone work, and the operations team could not answer the one question that mattered to enterprise clients: where is my shipment right now?
02The Approach
We mapped the real operation — dispatcher, driver, warehouse, customer — and found that the business didn't need a bigger system, it needed a single source of truth for shipment state. We defined one shipment lifecycle every role could see, designed the driver app around one-handed use in a moving cab, and made exceptions a first-class object instead of a phone call. Pricing and positioning shifted from cheapest carrier to most visible carrier.
03The Build
An operations dashboard with live fleet tracking, shipment status tables, exception alerts and delivery analytics; a driver mobile app with turn-by-turn routing, scan-based proof of delivery and offline capture for dead zones; a customer tracking portal; and a brand and site rebuilt for enterprise procurement conversations.
04The Outcome
Dispatchers stopped chasing drivers and started managing exceptions. Cargoline won two enterprise contracts it had previously been disqualified from on visibility grounds, and on-time delivery became a number the team could quote with confidence.
